The screen should not be doing this (neither should your ear). Needless to say, is the screen clean as there is a proximity sensor on the front which if dirty might cause this (hypothesising only).

Grrrr! I'm coming over there and giving you a shake, you mangy mutt! Never tease an irate woman when she is waiting for her new toy!

I have, so there, on my 3GS, and got the usual company phone questions, press 1 if you are..... Sigh! I hate that! The first time I tried I was put through to another line and then the number was so quickly repeated, I didn't write it down and then it hung up. Then I phoned again and this time she said it should be there soon but still no sign! Imagine me waiting for a month. Aarrgghh!!! Pulling hair out frantically!!!

Gab, you have a 3G, does your screen stay black when you take your ear away from phone. Half of my problem with this phone is it sometimes stays black and doesn't revert to the screen where you either end call, press in numbers etc... Is this common or is it just mine? I have done all the normal resets etc... So don't even go there!

I'm now talking to a sensible person! Shahinul! Where is the sensor located? Is it by the speaker? At a certain angle, I can see holes!

It is on the upper border of the phone, near where your ears would touch the screen.

Okay, I've cleaned the screen and it worked but I had to take it out of it's precious lilac leather cover to do so! I get uneasy when it's out! The leather is coming away from the cover and might be covering it as well so maybe a new black cover for hubby seeing as it's going to be his phone.

I can't see him having a lilac cover!

Mind you, he doesn't care if it means more money! Do I have to buy a new cover as well? Is the 4 a slimmer model as well or shaped differently? I think the front camera would be visible in this cover.

The iphone 4 is much better, sexy silver aluminium body unlike the 3 which has rounded edges, the 4 has squared edges
