What's new

The "Anything Goes" thread

Well, it's bad news I'm afraid. I'm excess to requirements. Cest la vie! My colleague was a newly qualified teacher and i couldn't compete with that!

Sorry to read about this disappointment for you Hayley. Don't let this hiccup get you down, keep looking into any possibility. Sometimes good things happen when you least expect it....you're at the front of the queue for that now:)

Thank you everyone. I was so overwhelmed with all the love and hugs I got from everyone at work too. Everyone was shocked. Didn't believe I would be the one to go. Very humbling experience. Another TA was made redundant today and two teachers will be going tomorrow too. Sad sad day for our school family.
Thank you everyone on Ipadforum. You guys are the best. I will let you know if I get any good news.

Thank my dear. I believe it's fate. One door closes and another opens. I will keep my eyes open and see what happens. The annoying thing is that the other colleague that got my job is still going to other interviews so she doesn't really want my job, she wants a science teacher job. I am a trained and experienced higher lever teaching assistant which is what the job is not a ascience teacher. Never mind. Keep smiling hey?
:)

California has a habit of gutting the Education system also. They try to finance many of their programs on the backs of teachers and classroom support. They ask for pay cuts and periods of no raises and once they get those concessions from the Union the cuts begin.

It is so hard to go from doing something you love to something else (personal experience), but hopefully you will find another passion when you start at your next place. Good Luck and Good Thoughts from the other side of the pond.

Thank you ever so much. You are exactly what I needed tonight. It's not the finding a job that's going to be hard but the fact that I'm not needed anymore after all the love and thanks that I get back from students and parents that I'm going to miss the most. The feeling of being wanted has been taken away by people who don't know me at all. The person who took that decision has only worked with our family for one year! Thank you again ZS! I will take that away with me tonight.

On another note, I've bought an airport time capsule and no, I'm not sorry I've spent that money because it will be my farewell present to me! It's loading up my 1.5TB now and I am so excited! I went for the 3TB because I know I will soon add more 2GB films to my 350 films!!! They take up so much space, don't they? I have 15 000 songs, tons of ebooks, a ton of tv shows (my Dr Who and Torrchwood). Need I say more? I think I deserve it!

On Monday 28th April i went to the Bonhams Car auctions held at Royal Airforce Museum in Hendon North London. Took these pictures on my iPhone 4s and made a slide video on iPhoto in my macbook. The lighting in the museum was awful, my camera struggled, and so did other visitors with better cameras. Dealer who check the cars out with a fine tooth comb was also unhappy with the Museum lighting. The 2 "Barn Find" red and yellow Jaguar E Types sold for £27,000+ and £30,000+ at the hammer, ridiculous price, the world have gone mad. As you will see in the video, perfectly good examples of Jaguar E Types were available and they went for less money

The photos were much better than I expected, you've done very well with bad lighting!

Again some great cars, some with quite a lot of work ahead for the new owners. But it must be a good feeling when they finally do restore them back to what they once were.....

Certainly some great planes also.....it must be a huge museum with so many cars shown!

I've never been a fan of E type jags....now my fav Jaguar has always been an XJ6 convertible.....very nice car!!

Happy Birthday, Johanna!
