the (easiest) of questions! (I hope)

I am seriously considering buying an ipad... I lieve in the UK and I am not strange from other Apple products (ipod, iphone).
But I do have a very simple question regarding the ipad which could not find answered so far in my research about the product...
I do have an internet wireless provider at home - can I access with th ipad through that provider, or do you need to have a special provider? I do know for the 3G side of the ipad this is necessary, but what about when you do already have a wireless spot?

If you have a wireless router at home, you are good to go! Adding your iPad to your network is no different than adding another computer.

Yep - register it to your network like any other PC

And use any other wireless hotspot while you're out and about.
