There are plenty of iOS keyboard apps that you can install on your iPhone or iPad to have a faster typing speed, but the new Hipjot keyboard is definitely going to raise some eyebrows with the writing speed that it promises. Created by app developer Yose Widjaja, this new Swype-style keyboard is a mix between gesture-based Android keyboard Swype and the standard iOS keyboard, as users can type with two hands by using swipe gestures.

Users can also choose to type normally and swipe through letters with one or two hands, which means impressive typing speeds can be achieved. The developer himself has managed to reach the peak speed of 120 words per minute, which is much higher than Swype’s typing speed of 50 words per minute. You can see his performance in the video at the end of the article.

Hipjot is a slick notes app, featuring a unique slide keyboard that lets you input words SUPER fast, letting you reach 70-90 words per minute with ease. Beats writing on paper for sure. It’s just like typing normally (especially when using two fingers), except you don’t have to tap the screen everytime you want to type letters that are next to each other. Words like “awesomeâ€, “swedenâ€, “suppose†and “seriously†become so much faster to type. We’ve always wanted a notes app that lets you write down things quickly, provides really good management (tags/folders etc), allows taking in voice/photos, that’s also secure. This is it.

The keyboard is embedded inside the Hipjot note-taking app that is available for $1.99 on the iTunes store. At the moment the app will work only with iPhone and iPod, but support for iPad will soon be added.
