The rowing was very very exciting.

GB Gold for the women's pairs. Then to see 3 flags featuring the Union Jack over the podium. :)

GB men's 8 lipped to the post by Canada. Canada silver, GB bronze. Germany gold....

Just got back to THAT news! WOWOWOWEEEEE!!!!!
A GOLD for one of the sports that they say we are best at-- the "sitting down" ones:-).

Well, if you think about it, there's riding, biking, rowing, sailing; we are good at all those.

Just watching the medals. Yes, three union flags look wonderful all together over the pink choc box!

I watched some last night. The swimming was exciting! The gymnastics was great too. I felt so bad for the Russian team though. They were so upset.

Such an emotional roller-coaster! It's hard to see the traumas that some go through, isn't it? Even harder when everything hangs on something like 500 nano-seconds or a tiny drop of a hoof.

Grief. Sanchez snapped his bike chain as he was starting on the time trial. What an unfortunate advert for the bike makers, Giant :(

Wiggy is going like a BOMB!!!

So sad for the Spanish who broke his chain...how on earth is that possible??

The route is all round your haunts I think, Richard (& Gabe)? Saw Sandown Park in there as well as Hampton Court etc.

Note: must add a pair of ginger sideburns to the shopping list:-):-)

Sky 3D is FREE to all HD customers until end of August but atm its showing non stop olympics lol

Wouldn't mind that! We are frustrated by only having Freeview. So that red button only has a couple of choices available meaning we have to decamp to our PCs.

The rest of the time, we don't have enough interest or energy to catch more than a few regular favourites, let alone consider paying for more channels. But would love them just for the next 10 days!

3D? Need to see some before deciding:-)

Wiggy for King!!!
Wiggy for Gold???

Yeah!!! He's done it with minutes to spare. Well done that sideburn pair:-)

WIGGY the GOLD!!!

AND for KING.

You bet! Don't forget Chris Froome's bronze.

I loved the golden thrones for the winners in waiting. I also loved hearing the National Anthem in front of a palace. :)

Oh, so sorry Froomy, didn't mean to ignore you. You can rule in tandem with Wiggy. Just don't both try sitting on the gold/bronze throne at the same time (little pause for a bit of chortling at the thought:-))

And TWO of the flags were full Unions! Plus the one on the palace makes three...
(Don't forget this is one of our special sitting down skills:-))

Whoever made that comment originally (possibly at Beijing?) meant it to be very RUDE!!!
But it does seem to be sort of true.

Suppose we are also good at cricket. Well, at sitting in deckchairs watching others being good at cricket!

What else?
Morris Dancing?:-)

I'm going!

Oops Sorry. It was not my intent to be rude.

Oh no--SO sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I certainly didn't mean you to think you were rude. Not at all!

NO WAY are any of us "offended" by comments like that "sitting down sports" one. It was very likely another Brit who made it. And we think it's funny. Really!

We are "rude" to our friends most of the time. The ruder we are, the more friendly we probably are:-)
We are VERY odd folk over here, you know. We often say the complete opposite of what we mean. And only we know when we actually mean it and when we don't...and we don't always get it right.

So how can anyone else understand what on earth we are on about???

No matter. As long as everyone else in the world is willing to make allowances for our peculiarities and never, ever believe anything we say, all's well with the world:-):-):-)
