Thought all the square eyes might like to see our Tigger. He's been watching night & day non stop, close up. But today he's starting to lose his bounce & needs a loo-break & a cuppa tea to revive him. He says he'll be back...& we believe him.

Oh he's just adorable!

Yep get him sorted quickly, he won't want to miss anything!

The press can get crazy sometimes and start all kinds of problems. You would not believe all the fuss about Gabby Douglas' hair after she won the gold. Silly stuff.....I'm with the rest of you, I cheer for whoever the winner is. It's so exciting and I love to see the reactions to winning. The women's hurdle last night was a great example. I loved the reaction from the Australian winner. Great stuff.

She's all over the news today, glad she achieved what she set out to.

Been loving the beach volleyball and the team games.

Saw the synchronized swimming....that was amazing and different!

Richard, what a wonderful collection of photos!!!

They give an excellent feeling of the travelling and the being there in the park. Interesting mix of long panorama views & close up costumes, people & shops.

Love that walkway with the colourful murals! The railway itself also brightly painted...you can't call any sections of it the "engine" can you? Not like that old engine in one pic. And not like those "proper" big puffing billies that steamed through 'Erne 'Ill Station and every summer took our whole family on holiday to 'Erne Bay...(true!!!)

That whole area of London that was so dreadfully rundown before the Millennium Dome.

It seems very strange now that my thesis for Geography at college, many moons ago, was a study of **exactly** here-- the Isle of Dogs and the Greenwich Complex on the opposite bank of the Thames.

Two adjacent areas that couldn't have been more different from each other. I mapped it all in great detail then but now wouldn't recognise any of it. Makes it doubly fascinating for me!

Many thanks for posting them all.
Which camera did you use?

I used an Olympus X-43 with 5x optical zoom. I wanted the pocket camera, rather than the bulky Canon.

Under the consultations for the Olympic Park proposals, allotment holders objected to the loss of their site. The planners etc promised to reinstate after the events were over. Will that happen? Hmmmm...

I've been away from the iPad for a while, so I'm busy catching up on messages etc.

I wanted to say thank you to you all for your kind comments about the photos. The excitement that exudes from the crowds etc is absolutely infectious. Talk about a feel good factor.

The athletics heats last night were good with dramas. However, many of the finishers were so happy to have taken part with a number on cloud 9. The taking part in an Olympic event is what mattered.

Chris Evans is interviewing the landlord of the Greenwich Tavern about changing the name.

It will be called "The Golden Saddle" for a few days. I don't know when this will happen. Do any of you live in or frequent Greenwich. Photos would be really appreciated for the forum :)

I will be going to the paradressage on 4th Sept. I will try to get some pics, though won't be able to do any roaming around that good photos need. I will ask others in the two coach loads going. Where is it? Near the entrance?

Hi Stranding,

The pub is next to the park gates which open off King William Walk. Map herewith

The equestrian arena is opposite the building wrongly named "The Royal Observatory".

Yes we love our beer ;). Unfortunately lots of pubs are closing weekly - people buy cheap booze to consume at home etc :(. Pub food is better there'd days.

The weird names have been conjured up by chains, such as Wratherspoon.

That's a shame, they showed the interiors of a few, how quaint and old worldly they were.

Are the drinks served cold?

Yes, they are. There is a movement to bring back real ale, made in local breweries. Locally made ale has a shorter shelf life, but my goodness it's delicious. I'm working up a thirst here ;)

Each month a group of us enjoy a pub lunch in an old world style of pub.
