Great news for fans of the BioShock series of games! 2K Games has announced that it is bringing the original 2007 BioShock game to iPhone and iPad later this summer, according to an earlier report from Engadget. It seems that the Graphics have been significantly lowered from the original Xbox title, but it will still be able to come with dozens of fours of fun.
BioShock delivers a true triple-A first-person shooter game experience on the iOS platform, by sending players on an underwater adventure to explore the submerged Art Deco city of Rapture, fighting deranged survivors of a failed objectivist utopia and genetically modifying their own DNA to gain superhuman powers.
Engadget says that the developer 2K Games will most like release the game with a 'premium price', probably in the $10 to $30 range. The game will also support MFI Game Controllers for more tactile interaction which should improve the overall gaming experience.
It seems that in-game lighting and shadows have also been cut down pretty dramatically, as well as the art assets. But the reason for the this is obvious - despite having a powerful GPU, the iPad can't yet meet the graphic processing powers of a standalone gaming device like the Xbox.
However, according to Engadget, the game plays perfectly fine and there are no lags whatsoever. It can also be played wit a gamepad. The original BioShock game is said to launch in the coming months, for iPad 4 and later, iPhone 5 and later.
