Two weeks ago Time Warner Cable withdrew Viacom, Discovery, and Fox channels from its TWCableTV iPad app, at the request of those aforementioned networks, who were not happy with their channels being on the app, which lets Time Warner Cable customers watch live TV on their iPads over a Wi-Fi connection. Now, MacRumors reports, Time Warner Cable has been permitted to restore the Discovery and Fox channels to its line up, but because of an ongoing legal dispute with Viacom, that company’s channels will not be returning as yet. New channels added to the app include Fox News, National Geographic, FX, Discovery Channel, TLC, and Animal Planet. With the return of these channels, the app now boasts over 50 channels, although just how many you get depends on your cable package and where you live.

Excellent news! I'm not sure I understand the dispute from the network side, though. I already pay the the cable company for their channels. What's the difference if I watch it on my TV or my iPad? They still get paid.
