MacRumors reports that Tiny Wings 2 has arrived in the App Store, but it’s actually more a case of Tiny Wings 2.0, as the long-awaited new version of the game is actually a major update rather than an entirely new game, meaning that if you already own the game, you’ll get the update for free, of course. Indie developer Andreas Illiger said that he decided to make Tiny Wings 2 a free update rather than a new version “as a thank-you to my loyal fans (and because I don’t particularly like in-app purchases).†The new update features Retina support, as well as a new game mode, Flight School, which features 15 new hand-designed levels, a flock of baby birds, fish, and much more. The update also includes iCloud support, syncing your game between the iPhone and iPad versions, and new languages, namely German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.
At the same time as releasing the update, Illiger also launched a dedicated iPad version, Tiny Wings HD, which offers all the regular content, as well as split-screen multiplayer mode, called Hill Party.
