It seems to have been a long time coming, but TiVo has finally released its free iPad app to the App Store. If you’re the owner of a TiVo Premiere and TiVo Premiere XL box, you can use the TiVo app to browse, search, explore and discover without interrupting your viewing. Use the app to immediately start recording a show, or to set a recording (either one-time or Season Pass), as well as to share the show via Twitter or Facebook. The app will also act as an advance remote control, taking direct control of your recordings when you want to play them back at your leisure, and even letting you scroll backwards and forwards through the program you’re watching. You can also use it to record programs when you’re away from home. It’s not all about function either, as you can use the app to find out all about your favourite actors, TV shows and films, and even get recommendations. So if you’re watching a show and want to find out more about a particular actor, you can do so immediately via the app.
