I dont get this quest . I added to barbara's but i didnt have all the keys. Do u need keys to add or just to start your own. I'm very confused! captain flop (level 40) in AC. Tribes friend id: wgmm1fc (level 36)
This is a good question.
I assumed that you only needed the keys to start your own Dino snowman quest but maybe I'm wrong.
If you was able to be invited and you then contributed successfully, then perhaps the answer is that you don't.

It seems like most people here have figured out the Dino-Snowman quest, but here's an explanation in case you haven't:

First, you need to unlock the quest by collecting items. Just follow the goals. The limiting factor is the Red Paint (and to confuse things, it's found in the cave on the 1st island rather than in the Ancient Bar as the goal states).

Once you've collected enough Red Paint, you will unlock the quest and receive a snowglobe (called Snowhut) as one of the rewards. You need to collect 5 ice keys from the Snowhut (each search of the Snowhut takes 2 hours) to gain access to the Winter Glade where you build the Dino-Snowman and initiate your own Dino-Snowman. You can initiate as many Snowmen as you want but you need to collect 5 keys each time. If you do not have 5 keys, you can still join other people's Snowmen.

To initiate your own (after collecting 5 keys), click on the map at the bottom, then the Dino-Snowman tab. This will take you to the Winter Glade. It takes 100 points to finish the Snowman. You contribute points by contributing items. The points are assigned as follows:

1 point for the Shovel which can be found in the patches
2 points for the Mittens which can be found in the Nice Huts
3 points for the Snow sculpting tool which can be found in the Houses
4 points for the Snow-Baller which can be found in the Cave
5 points for the Bucket which can be found in the Airplane

However each person can only contribute 20 items to the Snowman. In theory you could have 20 Buckets (5 points each) to finish it on your own, but in my experience the 4 and 5 point items are very rare while the 1, 2 and 3 point items are very common. Therefore it is likely you will need help from others. Up to 5 people can join in. You can set it so anyone on your friends list can help or you can invite specific players or both. You have 24 hours from the time you initiate the Snowman to finish it. If you finish the Snowman, the group will receive 130 snowflakes which are divided as follows (I think): 1 snowflake for each point contributed by the players, 10 bonus points for the player who initiated the Snowman, 20 bonus points for the person who contributed the most points. Additionally, the person who initiated the Snowman will get an Ice Dino. You use these snowflakes to buy special items/gifts to decorate your New Year Tree.

To join other people's Snowmen, you go to your friends list and click on everyone's icon. It ordinarily pops up an icon of a regular island. However if that player has a Snowman in progress, it will pop up both the Winter Glade and the island. Basically you have to click on everyone's icon until you find someone with a Snowman in progress.

Hope this helps somebody.

Thanks to hchien for the clear explanation of the Dino Snowman quest.
In addition to his words, only today has it become clear to me that the main quest is to actually build the Dino Snowman which is to be seen within the Winter Glade area. This is the area that you go to when you contribute to someone's Dino Snowman mini quest, or, of course if you initiate your own Dino Snowman mini quest having previously gained 5 ice keys.
When you are in the Winter Glade, it slowly becomes obvious that as you add points towards the mini quest completion, every now and then, a sound alerts you that in the centre of the winter glade your Dino Snowman has started to grow.
My experience suggests that it might take 5 or 6, or more successful mini quests to fully form the winter glade Dino Snowman.
I haven't yet completed my own Dino Snowman, but it looks to be well on the way after 5 mini quests (see below).
The bottom line, is that even with maximum effort, it's probably impossible to complete this quest within the relatively short timescale (there's only about 4 days remaining), unless you spend lots of crystals...which, I expect is GI's intention.
As hchien tells us, the fundamental building blocks to success are the items such as mittens, buckets, and snowballer things. My own experience suggest that buckets just do not drop from airoplane searches, and snowballers don't drop from cave searches. Other players may be more lucky than me.
I'd also add that I've done many, many 2 hour searches of the snow globe, and it has been very rare to get one ice key, never mind accumulating the 5 keys necessary for initiating one mini quest of the Dino Snowman.

A rather cynical...
