GI strike again, not content with recycling quests on AC now they're doing it on Tribez. Didn't really get this one first time round, maybe I'll do better this time.

Agreed that it is difficult to understand exactly what you are supposed to do...and more important, what we are trying to achieve as an end result. Most likely not worth spending any real money/crystals.

OK, here are my results for the Big Walrus .. I gathered my 110 fish at the Fisherman's Shop on 24 hr cycles.
I did all 3 dives together, one immediately after the other. I am disappointed that only the first dive yielded crystals, perhaps the xp on others is worth more, dunno.
I got same on first dive the last time, so I doubt the rewards are random each time.

Rewards apparently are random. Just did another dive, and got 300 sand only. Walrus needs better training.

I've built the Moon Smithy previously and it's quite profitable, but I didn't make it to build the Sage Tower. What's the advantage of having it?

The sage tower is very similar but it sits on the mystery shore island. From what I recall, you can order the same type of elixirs like you do with the moon smithy, but I don't think that they were quite as profitable. I recall that the elixirs took a slightly different time to make with the moon smithy.
I'm not convinced that it's worth the effort in getting the structures (or in my case 're-activating' them), but it's quite entertaining so I'm trying again without spending many crystals.

Yes, they are random, and my current experience is that they are better during the first couple of dives then gradually they become less lucrative.
I have noticed that I've recently gained a couple of strange items within my inventory, like a pile of orange crystals that just give increased happiness. I wondered whether this is an additional prize from the walrus, or from something totally unrelated like the Christmas quest. I don't recall anything saying that I had earned these things.

Nutty, thank you for detailed answer. The Moon Smithy with additional 50% of coins seems very profitable for me. I expand the land on 6 islands and I continously lack of money, so each extra coin is valuable. You spent more than 200M coins since the last update, I'm struggling to get 3M for the next expansion
