can someone please help me, i deleted my cydia icon with the hopes of unjailbreaking (restoring) my ipad. everything I've read, I've done, I tried re-jailbreaking(abinsinthe) it again in order to see the icon...no luck, I've tried restoring through itunes...no luck, I've even tried to just erase all of my settings to start anew, and it won't even let me do that. I'm all out of ideas. every process I try, it won't let me finish (itunes, erasing settings, restoring). when I tried re-jailbreaking it, it just tells me that I'm already jailbroken but I don't see the icon. can someone please help me

Unfortunately, you've messed your jail break (on iOS 5.1.1) beyond repair. Your only solution is to either re-restore to iOS 5.1.1 (if you have blobs or to put iOS 6 on the iPad.

To re-restore to iOS 5.1.1 (only if you have the SHSH blobs and you've not used the over-the-air update), see this tutorial: http://www.ipadforums.net/showthread.php?t=92572

If you want to upgrade to iOS 6, see this tutorial: http://www.ipadforums.net/jailbreak...lsafe-method-restore-current-version-ios.html. If the steps in the tutorial are followed exactly, you will have an pad running the stock iOS 6.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Marilyn

P.S. And, since you talk about a jail broken iPad, I've taken the liberty of moving your post over to the Hacking section. Thanks for your understanding.

Do a backup via iTunes, or iCloud over wifi. Then do a factory reset via iTunes. Then restore your backup from iTunes or from iCloud as your setting the phone up as new.

This thread is like 4 months old ;-)
