USB extension slows charging?

Is it possible that a USB extension cable increases charging time?

It took around 5h to get from 65% to 80%, of course I have been using the iPad every now and then during this time period. But it still seems go be a very long time.

Just for reference, the stock 10W charger is used and then the white USB cable is plugged into a 5m extension cable.

It is possible. The longer the cable the less amperage. But the difference should be minor unless the cable is very long or has problems.
