Used iPad and 3G data plan

I bought a used iPad that had 3 days left on 3G plan. Once it expired I tried to sign up but when I click on "view account" it asks for an email and password but that would be the previous owners. Is there a way to reset the cellular data account?

Might have to get a new sim, not sure though.
