Game publisher Ubisoft announced today the the company will be bringing Valiant Hearts: The Great War to iOS devices next month. Valiant Hearts is a puzzle-adventure game, inspired by letters written during theGreat War and has four characters on the battlefield help a young German soldier find his love in this story about survival, sacrifice and friendship.
Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the game originally released on Sony Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 last June. Recently, Valiant Hearts became available to download on Playstation 4, as well as Xbox One.
Ubisoft mentions that the iOS version of Valiant Heart won't be dumbed down from the console version. This will be the full-fledged game, which runs on consoles, and uses the same Ubisoft advanced graphics engine.
Via Ubisoft:
"Valiant Hearts: The Great War is the story of crossed destinies and a broken love in a world torn apart. It gives players the chance to live a touching yet comical adventure which focuses on the journey of four people as they brave the battles and difficulties of the Great War following their faithful canine companion.
All of the main characters are inextricably drawn together, and friendship, love, sacrifice and tragedy befall each as they help each other to retain their humanity against the horrors of war."
Of course the company has made tweak to the game, supporting touch controls, which seem to be perfect for this type of playable graphic novel. The publisher also notes that the graphics has been tweaked to support the beautiful Retina display.
Ubisoft claims that Valiant Hearts: The Great War is set to release on iOS devices on Thursday, September 4th. No word if it will be an iPad and iPad Mini exclusive or if Valiant Hearts will release on iPhone and iPod Touch as well.
