Verizon Wireless Confirms iPad 2 Tariff Details

Verizon Wireless has today announced that the iPad 2 will be available in select Verizon Wireless retail stores nationwide in the US tomorrow, March 11, from 5PM local time. Verizon will be offering all three models: 16 GB for $629.99, 32GB for $729.99, and 64GB for $829.99. Verizon’s iPad 2 data plans start at $20 per month, and as far as I know they are the same as for the original iPad, but if you’re new to the iPad and planning to get yourself a brand spanking new iPad 2 tomorrow from Verizon, here are those data plans in full:

Monthly Usage Cost Data Allowance

• $20 per month - 1 GB per month
• $35 per month - 3 GB per month
• $50 per month - 5 GB per month
• $80 per month - 10 GB per month

Verizon Data Plans

I would helpful to know for sure if these monthly plans are by the month with no contract and can be setup or canceled thru Apple, or with Verizon (however).

Or are these monthly plans a two year commitment with penalties to cancel.
