Very frustrated!

I have an IPad3.
I am trying to do a letter.
I downloaded 'Documents 2’
First, I did a 'test letter'.
Then I did the 'real' letter.
Now, I need to do a second letter, but I cannot find a way to do a second document.
Also, I want to delete the 'test' letter.
For the life of me, I cannot figure out how!
Would one of you please tell me? I can't be that much of an idiot, can I?

Ooooops forgot, to create a new document click the plus sign bottom right on screen

Yes..that page was not there!
Today I decided to try again, and the black page was there....very self explanatory.....until.......I clicked on the '+'. Then the blank page with 'B, I, U, Paint can, T' on the bottom left, 'file, in the upper left. Nothing else. How do I make a title, enlarge or reduce letter size?

I forgot to say, that on the bottom of the black page, just under the '+' sign, there is a band along the bottom. It is an advertisement for another document app. The ad covers the 'garbage can', the ,edit',
And the other icons. I still have no way to have control of anything.

I have the ad bar too, on the first black page only the + will show.

The Bin etc do not show until you press Edit (top right).
