If you’re a videogames fan, and the sort of videogames fan that likes to read about your chosen subject in great depth, then you’ll doubtless be delighted to hear that Future Publishing’s excellent Edge magazine has now got its own iPad version. The iPad version of the well-respected multi-format magazine was created in partnership with games developer Square Enix (Final Fantasy), and hits the App Store today complete with an interactive cover wrap and three interactive adverts. The first iPad edition of Edge is also fully Retina display enabled, and features lots more interactive goodies that the print edition can only whimper about and look longingly at, such as animations, video, additional content and shareable text.
Tony Mott, Editor-in-Chief of Edge, says: “We know that our readers have high expectations of Edge, and we’re meeting those expectations with this new, dedicated iPad edition. With interactive pages, bespoke video and other exclusive content, this edition gives readers exciting new ways to engage with one of the most established and trusted names in videogaming.â€
Richard Keith, Publisher of Edge, says: “With its award-winning brand of videogame insight and opinion, Edge is a perfect fit for the iPad and we are delighted to launch with Square Enix onboard. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for Edge, not only because it offers higher levels of engagement for our readers, but it also opens up increased commercial possibilities for advertisers.â€
