I have been a Windows guy since the start (2.0) but have always said that Apple products were high quality (even had an Apple II). The release of the iPad 3 has taken me over to the other side. I am currently on a 6 month road trip and my iPad hasn't caught up yet. It is currently at my commercial mail forwarding service and should arrive in Myrtle Beach (my current location) Monday or Tuesday. I have downloaded the users guide and am perusing it. Will convert it to eBook on the iPad later.
I am 65 years old and always been tended towards geeky. Currently have a Xoom Android tablet which was okay but lacks some of the things I want in a tablet. I went with it because it had 4G and am generally satisfied with it but think the iPad will probably blow my socks off.
My other gadgets are the Droid Bionic and a couple of windows laptops plus a nice bluetooth speaker for playing music on. I have a Garmin Montana 650 GPS plus a Nuvi for driving. One laptop acts as my only computer at home and the smaller one (my wife's) we take in the 5th wheel when we travel. Left home on 12/24 and expect to return to Rescue, CA in July.
My other hobbies are tennis, hiking, biking, kayaking and geocaching.
