Here's a weather update from Regina. It's been snowing for almost 24 hours, with the snow expected to last into Sunday. Here are some more pictures I took this morning. The last two pictures are in my back yard.

Beautiful. Only place I like snow is in places like this. NYC, yuck, forget it!!! Maybe when it is falling and you can watch outside the window but when I have to get on subways and busses to go to work, no likey!!! :(

It's pretty there too, that's about it. I certainly don't live there very $$$$. But I wouldn't go building snowmen or making angels in the snow there as people walk their dogs there and I KNOW everyone doesn't clean up after their dogs!!! That's another thing about NYC snow, you never know what's under it and people get lazy and nasty with the dogs because of the snow, even rain sometimes. Gotta make sure you don't slip and fall into the pile...

NYC is a place of weather extremes that's for sure. Unless I have to go for business I prefer visiting in early May. I've been once in early December. A conference I attend annually is in June and already the humidity is nasty.

Yugh! Snow poo! How gross. We have dog wardens over here and you can get fined on the spot for not cleaning up after your dog. But yes, we have the same lazy sods too. You'd think Central Park would be hot on that considering how web pensive it is to live there but I suppose the rich can be lazy too.
My students also have the same mentality, when they make a mess at school, they say "oh, the cleaners can pick it up, that's what they are paid for!" Grrr.

Did you see the newspaper article about plans to use DNA to link excrement to dogs? The problem is that dog owners need to agree to having their mutt's DNA taken and added to a database.

DNA testing isn't cheap, how would they plan to fund such a program?

The weather here is currently -8°C, rising to 0°C by mid-afternoon.

I didn't see any detail, but guess revenue would be raised from fines. The cost in recovering fines could also be excessive.

The DNA ideas sounds good on theory, but is in reality most likely half cocked!
The 1st of April is a long way off!

Edit. However, this links to a story about DNA. (£99 for the initial test). http://www.gtldna.co.uk/news/dna-test-to-trace-pet-poo-to-owners-011.html

Yes....we are all fine..... :)

Can't say the same for all the people who did sustain damage from more storms yesterday.....

Am on 3G which is really being affected by the electrical storms around.

It was reported that we had 190,000 lightning strikes on the weekend....amazing!!

-2°C and cloudy, with a high tomorrow of 0°C. The high on Thursday will only be -10°C, we're headed for a cold snap that will last at least until the end of next week.
