Yup. Too much water and nowhere for it to go. Water tables are all full from summer rain.

I can't believe it was raining in Regina. It was -25 in Dawson Creek this morning. It's warmed up now at -18, dropping again to -26 overnight.

Here's your weather warning, scifan.

Warnings

City of Regina
2:29 PM CST Wednesday 21 November 2012
Freezing rain warning for
City of Regina continued

Freezing rain today.

This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions...Listen for updated statements.

As of 2:20 PM radar indicates that the area of heavy freezing rain has moved eastward and is now affecting the Moose Jaw - Regina area. Freezing rain warnings have thus been ended for the southwest part of the province. This area of heavy freezing rain is expected to move into the Yorkton area shortly. With temperatures at or just below the freezing mark, significant icing of roads and other surfaces is expected making driving conditions extremely treacherous. The freezing rain will move into Manitoba later this afternoon.

An area of heavy snow is developing just north of the area of freezing rain..Generally in the vicinity of the Yellowhead Highway between Yorkton and Wynyard, giving about 10-15 cm of snow to parts of Kamsack and Humboldt regions by this evening. This precipitation will slip into Manitoba this evening.

In addition...Reduced visibility in fog is being reported over much of Southern Saskatchewan, with near-zero visibility possible at times. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution due to the reduced visibility as well as the slippery road conditions.

A second weather system will bring some 10 to 15 cm of fluffy snow to the Kindersley region tonight.

That looks cold and miserable, Scifan. It's visual proof of the Environment Canada severe weather warning posted by Kevin.

We had to put up with heavy rain in between drizzle and some dry spells yesterday. I had to time outings from the house to take the car in for it's annual service and MOT test, and to account my wife to the station. Then the reverse journeys to collect car and wife.

MOT test. I remember those. I used to call it the Moment of Truth test. We don't have them in Alberta. We just run them until the wheels fall off, and then buy another.

You lucky folks, Kevin! Vehicles over 3 years old have to undergo the annual safety check - the MOT. These days insurance and MOT results have to be entered onto the Licensing Agency's database. Then motorists can apply for a new tax disc for their vehicle(s) on line. It's efficient and a lot quicker than queuing at the Post Office with all the necessary paperwork etc.

Ah, I have another job to complete on the computer. :)

Do you have to heat the block of your truck when parked overnight?
