Be glad it isn't cold enough to turn the roads into a sheet of ice!

BTW, I've noticed that the parked cars I see across the street from your house in your photos are often parked facing in both directions. Is that the normal way to park on residential streets?

Hi Scifan.

Yes, it is common for cars to park facing either way in 2 way residential streets. I guess one reason is that with limited parking spaces, a driver will grab what's going as soon as seen.

The way in which cars face will add a new dimension to the slide show at the end of the year ;)

I hear that the Thames barrier at London has been closed for the first time since 2010 to cope with expected flooding.
 
Yup but eventually they will have to raise or build a new one due to global warming etc...

Plus the fact that the land in southeast England is sinking. Combine that with global warming and London will end up as Venice north.:(

That reminds me of the amphibious car challenge on Top Gear.

One across a lake - James May won that

The other one across the channel. Mad as hatters but I love the show. Can't wait for their new challenge in March
