What's new

Weather

It's been snowing for at least 7 hours and will continue for 12 hours. In addition, the wind is blowing. There's gonna be 20 - 30 cm of snow to shovel today. :-(

If I went to the beach after work, I'd need a chain saw to cut a hole in the ice.
lol I like that.

I kinda enjoy Sydney's weather, summer is kinda warm, we do get temperatures above 30°C (86°F) but most days are around the 18°C - 26°C (64°F - 78°F) mark. The past couple of weeks have been pretty warm, most days above 30°C (86°F) and we had days that reached 40°C (104°F). Highest recorded temperature for Sydney is 45.3°C (113.5°F) way back in 1939.

Winter rarely drops below 5°C, I think the coldest day recorded is 2-3°C, I have never witnessed snowfall and have only ever been on snow twice in my life.

Back in 2009 Sydney experienced a dust storm which was scary. Sydneysiders who are used to waking up to bright blue skies instead woke up to a reddish-orange cloud surrounding literally everything. It looked like we were on Mars lol

Below are some before and after shots:

Those are great before and after shots, iRager. :). Did you take them? If not, what is the source - you should make a reference to the source.

Haha. My wife actually did that. Someone told her not to, so she just had to take up the challenge.

"Is that a fancy new piercing, or an aluminum ladder that you just happen to be carrying around on your tongue?"

Oh, you know. The usual trick. Lots of warm water, a wooden spoon, an immense amount of pain and a realization that sometimes instructions are for ones own good.

That was in Saskatchewan years ago, long before I met her. I still cackle when I think of it. She told me when she was passing the info to me, although quite why she thought I might go around licking basketball hoops is beyond me.

Maybe she was hoping that something would be torn out?:D

I suspect you're right.

Back to the weather. It's -20°C and raining here in the Northern Rockies. HOW can it rain at this temperature?

I guess she was the inspiration for one of Mr Bean's antics! :D

We are enjoying lovely sunshine after a frosty start. It's calm - perfect weather for my walk, with camera!

Cloudy, -3°C and breezy. Grape farmers say the warm weather will not harm ice wine grapes. They hope to finish the harvest next week when temps. reach -10°C overnight.
