I see it's not so good in your part of the world, Johanna. The BBC has some pictures of the M1 between Wien and Budapest. The road appears to be a parking lot.

Read this this afternoon. Weather is such a powerful force.

Thanks for posting this, AA. Yes we have suffered extremely unusual weather. At the start of 2012 there was talk of drought conditions. Then.... Boy did it rain! This year is set to be a wet one too.

man that is depressing. Is that all of Europe I wonder with that dreadfully weather that must feel endless.

Much of Europe has suffered similar conditions. However not as prolonged as in the UK.

That's only because all the snow that didn't fall to the ground here landed in Hungaria. ;-)
In earnest: while we had the snow storm with up to 100 km/h winds, the snow didn't have the chance to fall to the ground. In Hungaria it did, obviously. Red cross and other aid organizations went to Hungaria to help them get cars out of the snow. That affects our traffic as well, once they are freed.

Yes, Richard, it was a wet night but now snow! Isn't weather strange? One minute sun, next rain, then snow.

Did I say the snow was stopping? Oops! Still coming down and a bit harder now. Poor, poor hubby. He is at the Lackham show near Lacock, Wiltshire. Lets hope it's not snowing there.
