Weather

We're breaking records here with our heat wave.

Sad part is birds are dropping out of the sky from the heat.....we came across dead seagulls on the beach.
The news tonight reported thousands of bats falling from their trees dead.

It's -34°C where I live, with a wind chill of -49°C. Do you want me to send you some?

Just incredible the disparity in climate/temperatures on this li'l ol' planet of ours. I just can't imagine that kind of minus figure sci. Here I was thinking we've been not so bad in Adelaide with very mild sunny days of around 24c until I looked at our forecast for next two weeks.

Looks like we'll be in for some heat soon also leelai. We don't have bats here but there could be a number of people falling out of their trees here;) I too do not like that heat!

Nooooo lol, its pretty cold here, we're getting battered with high winds AGAIN, feel so sorry for those that are getting flooded again.....The worlds weather is going haywire.

My temperature has dropped to -36°C, but the windchill is now only -47°C!:( The high today is supposed to be -22°C.

Well we are still drowning. I've seen pictures of the Somerset levels which looks like lakes. Some amazing waves over Lyme Regis Cobb wall. And yet it was 13°C yesterday??? It's not that warm at this time of year. It was 10°C today and wind and rain. Rain and wind. Same old same old.
Hubby went past an overturned car near us. They must have overtaken someone and hit the flooded bit. Why do people think cars are going slowly on purpose? So stupid. The road was closed for two hours

Same here in the North, probably colder than you get down there, we saw a car yesterday that had gone through a hedge, Still no snow at the mo and that has to be a plus.

So you're going to be getting some of the heat too......it was sweltering here yesterday, and the humidity was dreadful, I was literally melting! Stay cool down there! The day ended with a big thunder storm, cooled us down but wreaked havoc for some!

A friend of ours was out hosing his yard on the weekend and he noticed a few birds swooping through the spray and then they kept coming.....he ended up with them all over his yard and porch.....he just kept spraying them all! :)

Glad for you it's cooling off in Brisbane leelai. We get a dryer heat down here so it's probably a bit more bearable, but anything over 35 brings out the sook in me, just too hot! It forces one to stay inside, follow advice not to get dehydrated and therefore drink more beer, only venturing outside to change the bird-bath water;)

And you certainly don't want any more battering! Oh wait, I was thinking of the performance of your visiting cricket team down under, so I'll stop hijacking this thread;) Our papers have been reporting, with dramatic pictures, the horrible weather you are having there Ivy so we can only hope that will improve for you all. Stay warm:)
