Day 2 of no school. Sigh...I think we will be going to school until July. So far we've had 4 weather days that we have to make up. Admin will tack these snow days to the end of the year.

Neither do we.
I only experienced a day off once in my life, and that was in January 1986, when snowdrifts in the backyard were higher than I am. It was impossible to get to school. Most of the people working in Vienna had to stay at home.

here on the island which is hilly with twisting rural roads the children are bused to school and when it is snowy with Ice the buses do not run.The teachers and assistance staff are expected to attend as they can' t ride the buses unless it' s a field trip.Insurance reasons.The children make up these snow days in June as we have definite days per year that they are expected to attend.

Thank you! I was. Today: same situation, -4° C. It was raining at night and still is.

It's bad in East Tyrol and Carinthia. They had loads of snow until now. It could be raining there today, and snow is expected for tomorrow again.

That is what is happening here right now. Started as cold rain and turned to ice. Supposed to change to snow soon, but that bottom layer of ice will be dangerous here too.

Only raining here. Inbetween there was some time when the ground was dry, now it's raining again, so we get the next layer of ice.
