What's new

Weather

I'm already at home, and intend to stay here until tomorrow. What I still have to do for school, can be done here as well. I just hope that my mother won't have to leave her house. There are people with outdoor jobs, like the postman. Afaik they have to work.

It's good you can do some of your work at home and not have to go out.

mums normally know when it's not safe to go out but I understand your concerns for her....I worry about mine too at different times.

As for postmen, I'm sure they must have protocols on weather conditions. Although they do have that motto that has been ascribed to them -

"Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these courageous couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"

Sounds rather heroic! ;)

It doesn't only sound heroic, it is, considering the raging storm outside.

I just talked to my mother. She's at home.

LOL. Now if only there was some pithy quote I could pass on to our heroic postman. Something like.... For heaven's sake don't ride that postie motorbike across our lawn on the way to the letter box as it compacts and ruins the grass........

I'm in doubt that he'll read a long quote, if he's in a hurry. More likely something like this:

You can see the track our postman has left right across our footpaths up the street. Its just a shame!

"beware of snakes"

Edit: I've tried twice now to make that all-capitals, but the forum app changes it to all-lowercase. Odd.

It works for me.

"BEWARE OF SNAKES"

Double tap the caps key and you'll see a dash below the arrow, indicating that all letters will be capitalized until you tap the caps key again.

Hey I like that suggestion. When those things are not toppling the postie we could play croquet on the lawn. Andrew Sent from Oz using Tapatalk
Lol
I suppose you'll have to play mini-croquet. They are not as big as they seem on my picture.

Apologies if this has been posted before, but a search for the name reveals no hits.

There is an excellent (and a tad addictive) app and website called Wezzoo (App Store and wezzoo | weather by you) which allows people to post real time weather reports from tablets and smartphones on most OS platforms, etc. complete with any or all of: photograph, temperature C/F, comment, etc.

The post stays on the map for 1 hour after which, because it is a "realtime" weather report, it auto-deletes. Any pictures taken, however, remain in a sidebar for a longer period 0 but I don';t know for how long.

I commend it to you!
