What's new

What are you guys doing right NOW??? ;)

I'm catching up on this thread and laughing. Talk about a hodge podge -- quantum physics, geek speak, kittens and a show called Toddlers and Tiaras. Then some random post about seismic shifts, which I could've sworn I've seen posted elsewhere on this forum previously. Or maybe I've entered an alternate universe.

Kay, if you've never seen Toddlers and Tiaras, it's a train wreck you'll get addicted to and be appalled by. Stay away!

I've heard about it and was horrified, lol. No prob about seeing it accidentally, though. I have no TV connection -- I watch only DVDs or stream. I decided years ago that I watched too much TV just because it was there, so I cut it out. I've never regretted it.

Occasionally I confuse him with Hasslein.

No Admiral. Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle. Disappointed that my quantum physics joke fell flat! :(

Don't take it too hard. I read the punch line after being awake for 20 hours.

Don't feel too bad Kevin, I did:-)

Stepping into that feels a bit like Mornington Crescent.

But no one caught my small but intrepid reference to that either, in the torrential word showers.
I decided to go lie down in a darkened room till it subsided. Not sure it has yet. Be wary is my motto.

Afraid I had to Wiki that one. A game without rules? Sounds like the Kobayashi Maru.

That's not correct. There are rules but which you follow depends on which variation you decide to play. It can be complex so you need to be quick.

All you need is a London underground map. Players travel between stations on a route to Mornington Crescent. The first one there is the winner.

Here is a link to the rules & a demo, set out simply for the popular Beat variation of the game:

And here are some snips from the BBC4 radio programme "I'm sorry, I haven't a clue" being recorded (where it was first played & is still the most popular game).

The much loved chairman "Humph" Lyttleton (also the jazz trumpeter) sadly died not long ago. He was very funny...he was also said to have had a filthy mind, but always denied that; he claimed that all he ever did was read what it said in the script set in front of him...
