It's may be a bit early for me but I'm going to go grab a cocktail and watch the festivities unfold!

And what a great Australia Day it has been at the beautiful new Adelaide oval on a glorious summer day! In an incredible edge of the seat one day cricket match. Australia has, after coming in well behind, AGAIN beaten England by a margin of only 5 runs Ozie Ozie Ozie Oi Oi Oi!!!

Thanks everyone!

It did turn out to be a lovely day! Yes we do have fireworks, across the river from the City at Southbank....it's a wonderful spot to spend the day and many would have today. All our regional areas and cities will be holding their own celebrations and fireworks. Many will celebrate this day getting together with friends and having a barbecue, parks and picnic areas everywhere would have been jam packed today! We also have a public holiday for this day, so it's a long weekend for us.

We did all have a wonderful time, that is until one of my daughter's friends picked her up and threw her in the pool, and she hit her head on the bottom. She's fine now and home after spending some time in hospital.

So it's been an eventful day.....but one I'd rather not go through again!

That's just awful Hayles.....that poor child.

I just don't know why they continue to swim in those areas at all....hot days and the water must just look so inviting.

it's Kakadu National Park, there's lots of crocs up that way.

So do I. I love them! But yes, it must be hard for kids to not swim when it's hot. They take a chance and it's their last. Another boy got bitten.

Oh boy, Leelai--you certainly did have an eventful/overly-eventful day. I'm glad she turned out ok, but geez spending time in the emergency room on a holiday is just the pits.

No, it wasn't good......but we were fast tracked, I think because we came in by Ambulance, so didn't have to wait in Emergency at all, which was very good!

Oh goodness Leelai, I didn't see that you had your own little emergency. So worrying when our babies have accidents. My littlest was the most accident prone. She fell off her wardrobe and then got sprayed in the eyes by her elder sister. Both were hospital visits.
