What's new

What I see in my backyard...

Awesome pictures ski! That just has to be so much work to shift that snow. We're having very warm weather today (38c with a cool change coming) so I would love to hop on a plane and give you a hand with the shovelling. But first what I would love to do is to just fall over backwards in a nice stretch of fresh snow and do those...what do you call them?...I forget...was it angel wings pattern or something;) That would be cool:)

They're called snow angels.

They're the ones, thanks sci. I knew there was something angelic about my post:). I would love to just go out of my front door and do that?

Here's the view out to my back yard at the moment:

My mom and I are wondering how high the snow will get on the table. It's been steadily building since the beginning of February.

Oh, and Andrew? You can so come here and have all the snow you want. But - deal is you've got to take it with you when you go. Along with the -3°F temperature! :)

I know it's winter in New York [state]. But sheeze! :D

Whoa....I didn't see your post Andrew and Marilyn!

Andrew...would love to exchange some of our temps with you...the warm weather on a beach sure does sound nice.

And Marilyn--I've been thinking of you every moment when I hear the news about NY/New England area. They talked about thunder snow in Boston where my Brothet in law and fam live. Everybody out there in the NE want out! Also just heard that there are massive flight delays once again! When will this stop!? :(

Sheesh! Those are incredible snow pictures there...
-- @Mickey330 -- That's a mind boggling amount of that white cold stuff there. I'm thinking that table would only be just managing to support the weight. And your roof structures would surely have to be extra strong and heavy duty
-- @skimonkey -- "Thunder snow" already! I may just delay that exchanging of temps for a while:D. We're reading about some serious winter storms in your area...stay safe!
-- @scifan57 -- You've had some impressive falls there for sure sci! Makes me wonder, when you have those huge overnight snow falls, you must have problems opening doors, gates etc. It must be hard just to get out of the house. Do you take any prior steps to make that easier? Ground warming pipes or covers and such like?
....... Only a couple of weeks of winter left up there, and then your beautiful spring time....so stay warm y'all:)
Andrew

My doors have never been snowed in, both are above ground level and are reached by short flights of steps.
The only thing that will happen in a couple of weeks is more snow. We still have two months or more of snow before it melts away.
@The OB any time you want to make snow angels in my yard, you're welcome. There's also enough snow to make a couple of snow forts for a heavy duty snowball fight.:D

Snow angels, yeah I'll have a go. Mind you I've never done it so leaves a lot to be desired experience wise:

Here's a video for you to enjoy.
That's a good bit of fun there?:) It must have been very cold because the snow looks very powdery. We have had some snowfalls in winter in the Adelaide hills but that melts within half a day. People rush up there to build snowmen and have snowball fights. But the snow is so wet and heavy that any snowball one makes would give you some serious concussion;) Not light and powdery at all.

@Scifan...my goodness that looks like a lot of snow that came down in your area. Looks like you snowblowed it. Lucky you, I wish we were able to use ours during our snow storm ...but the garage door wouldn't open!
