As an Apple user from back in eighties I can't tell you how ironic that statement is. Back then the number one observation was that Apple had the best desktop, but had no idea how to market it. We all watched while Microsoft turned the hideous Windows products into the number 1 desktop OS while Apple flailed about trying to figure out how to sell their products. It's called marketing. And there aren't many companies in the world that are better at it, than Apple.
Of course the real problem was Apple saw themselves as a hardware company and thought IBM was there competition. Oddly IBM kinda thought the same thing. By the time they both figured out that Microsoft was the issue the war was over. Fortunately for Apple the Mobile market has leveled the playing field. Temporarily.
