What's new

What music are you listening to right now!?!?

I haven't heard this song for quite a while, so here goes:
Frank Sinatra - My Way

I like to listen to it once in a while. It's good, if not heard too often.

Here's the link to it:

Thanks Scifan, I've been listening to so much Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi and even Brahms (the Hungarian Dances) lately I've forgotten how nice and dark this is.

Bach - Air On A G String

This is the performance of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at BBC Proms 2010.

I remember playing it as a very young violin student.

My son uses this as ringtone on his smartphone:
Bach - Toccata & Fugue
I think it sounds sinister, in a way - although I really like it.

That's awesome. The following is pretty close to my current ringtone. Same theme, with less drum and more emphasis on the whistle part.

In case I get tired of it I keep the original themes from Batman (the series), James Bond, The Muppet Show, and The Pink Panther on standby.

I don't care for ringtones that are just cuts from a music track. They need to be redone to sound good on the phones speakers, and be distinctive enough not to be mistaken for ambient music.

Was it hard to play?
Not particularly, but bear in mind that at around 12 years old my tone wasn't very good. :) On the turntable now: the Verdi "Pater Noster," sung a capella by the Mikaeli kammarkör on Proprius LP. This one of the most beautiful records I've ever heard.

There's also a stunning version with organ of the Purcell "Thou knowest Lord the secrets of our hearts."
