Having a re-run of my favorite Yes album, Going For The One.

Recorded in Montreux, Switzerland, the church organ parts by Rick Wakeman were sent by telephone line to the studio for recording; not bad for 1976.

I heard this song today, performed by an alto horn ensemble and a keyboard, no vocals:

It was terrific, I got goose bumps. :-)
I couldn't find a similar version, so I had to post this one.

System of a Down. This weekend I'm taking my daughter and granddaughter to Warped Tour. I'll have new music soon.
We'll have a repeat performance on Thursday.

Joseph Haydn - Symphony No. 45 (Farewell), Presto, Adagio

I was searching for a video with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Baremboin. They performed this symphony a few years ago in one of their New Year's concerts. The conductor alone would have been worth watching it, because of his comedic talent.

Here's a different version now: Mercury Baroque Ensemble, with a tiny bit of the humour that would have been visible in the other video:

Theme from Harry's Game by Clannad. Beautiful.

Since some of my CDs are getting a bit long in the tooth, I'm ripping them into iTunes as fast as possible.

The latest conversion is The Collection by Ultravox, which I'm presently listening to for the first time in years.

Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam) - Father and Son, in a version from 2007
I like the song because of it's simplicity.
