What's new

What music are you listening to right now!?!?

Berlioz Requiem (again). The glorious "Tuba Mirum" is playing right now.

As much as I adore this recording (the Telarc LP with Shaw/Atlanta), it is a mere shadow of the live performance I attended many years ago: an augmented St. Louis Symphony under Slatkin, plus four choruses comprising over 400 singers, in the lush acoustics of Powell Hall. The tenor soloist John Ayler sang from a couple of rows behind me, in the balcony! Major goosebumps.

J.A. - is that you playing the flute in the back row? I'm pretty sure I saw you in there![emoji56][emoji170]

Nessun Dorma - the three tenors, a personal favourite of my dear father , and a reminder of the things we lose .....

One of our TV channels has a "Day of Rock" today. We're watching and listening to Queen - a concert which took place in Budapest in 1986.

I wish I could listen to them. :(
There's always a great difference between hearing a song or composition performed live, and listening to a track.
What you posted so far sounds promising.
