I think the only Monte Python I've ever seen was Life of Brian, so I've no competing Proust memory. There must be good coma audiobooks to fit various tastes. I'm listening to Virginia Woolfe's Mrs. Dalloway currently, and it has that potential -- lovely disjointed storytelling. Ulysses might work, too, but only if not read in some comically odd voice and accent.
