Patty Smyth (lead singer for Scandal) was almost an important part of rock history as well - she was asked by Edward Van Halen to replace David Lee Roth when he left the group Van Halen. She had just had a child (don't know boy or girl) and declined, to stay home and raise her family.

I just love her voice.

Always have time for Patty Smith. I did not know that Van Halen asked her to come onboard. That would have sent the band in a much different and interesting direction.
