What's new

What's the last movie you saw?

The Messenger. I can't understand why this film was rated only 90% on Rotten Tomatoes; yes, the subject matter is difficult, but the acting is the best I've seen in a long time.

It's a different kind of war movie, about the awful and thankless duty to notify next-of-kin that a soldier has died. Heroically, the director managed to explore this challenging subject without making it a tear-jerker.

I got to watch a doc. On the Dogon's in West Africa! I was there in the late ’70’s! Here is this archeologist saying " Can you imagine I am standing here where people lived over 2000 years ago? And I'm thinking - oh ya, I sure can! I was there too! It was truly awesome to have a Nat'l Geo filming and raving about a place I was so many years ago! It is NOT an easy place to get to! Good thing I was young or the heat, humidity and thousand(s) mile hike almost straight up a cliff would have killed me!
:) :) I can't tell you how exciting that was! In the caves between the top Ledge and Village below are holes in the layers of the rocks where the Pygmy's lived!! I guess you had to be there to find it as joyful as I did! I mean physically and then watching the doc. :D :D ;) ;) :)

Peace begins with a smile. :)
