I thought I would share the cheap and cheerfull solution I settled on. It is called a mini easel and cost $5.00 from a local arts and crafts store. I have attached a couple of images.

Both iPad and iPad 2 fit perfectly with or without a case.

What a great idea! Thanks for the pictures too. A big advantage of your idea is that it's real easy to put the iPad on this stand and take it off again.

Id have to go for the Luxa2 H4 love the quality and 360 degree rotation is great for watching films
