Who wants their screen rotation button back?

Before you fall off that high purch, could I point out, we do not get to pick and choose what parts of the updates we as the poeple who paid all this money for something get to install or not, just because we wanted to update for other options does not mean everyone wanted "all" the changes that were inside that update!

If you wanted the update and the changes fine, but don't jump on people who did not want all of the update but needed some of the new features. Everyone on here can say what they want about the ipad being as they are the ones who spent the money to buy it, so if there is something they are not happy with then it is their God given right to complain about it, no matter who likes it or not, but stop telling us what we can and cannot complain about unless you would like to pay them all back the money they spent, then feel free to tell us all we have to love everything single thing abut the ipad!

Untill that happens, do not enter threads that you do not happen to agree with! simple as that, saves everyone a headache in the long run!

If you don't like Apple's stance on not allowing changes to the user interface, go buy another product or jailbreak your iPad.

Sitting here complaining about it gets you about as close to a solution to your problem as twiddling your thumbs.

I do normally stay out of complaint threads, because they normally don't go anywhere. But when I see people actually claim they are "mortified" or say that they now "hate the iPad" due to this one small change, I have to jump in and poke fun.

I really do like the new switch feature though, I use the mute function much more than I ever used the orientation lock.

I agree that using words like "mortified" is probably taking things a little too far.

However, since you mentioned being so happy with the new functionality of the switch let's try a hypothetical scenario here. Suppose when iOS 4.3 comes out, Apple decides to change the switch function back to orientation lock. Would that upset you at all seeing how you like the mute function better? That little bit of upset you would be feeling is the same way people feel that preferred the switch as an orientation lock. Personally, I don't have a huge problem either way. I did use the switch before, now I imagine it will never be used. Big deal, I am well past over it but sometimes it doesn't hurt to put yourself in other people's shoes before poking too much fun at them.

Is there a way that one can block a particularity caustic and argumentative user? I've absolutely had enough of their belligerence, and would love to completely block anything they have to say. Other forums have this functionality, but I haven't been able to find it here.

I think if you click on their user name, it will bring you to their page. And you can block them there.

Just go to your user control panel (User CP) tab at the top of the screen and select the option to Edit Ignore List

This will bring up a screen where you type in (or paste) the user's screen name that you wish to ignore.

Ya know though. I have found that your, or whomever he is going to ignore, their post are blocked, but the username is still there.

So ~ they can still post in your threads or wherever, but you just can't read what they wrote, but you know they posted!

Most I know....can't take it and unblock to read it!!
