Wi-Fi Issues

Hello all.

I am new to iPads and the Apple forums but I have a business problem that requires resolution:

I have a Board of Directors who have been bought iPad 4s, (Version 6.1.3) in order to use BoardPaq during meetings at our several branches. I have set up a Cisco Aironet access point in each location for them to use these devices. The issue is that they drop like flies, on and off again, during the meetings. They just seem to drop Wi-Fi for no apparent reason. I have no issue with any other devices and have scanned for solutions but they all seem to be for either older versions or older models.

Can anyone assist me with this or point me in the right direction?

Have you tried resetting network settings? Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. If that doesn't work, try resetting your router.

You can get a scanner and see if ipad is not doing what it suppose to.
But it can be interference from another source at those locations.
A cheap scanner is an Android tablet with a WiFi Analyzer app.
I think routers can be setup to dynamically switch frequency, but it may only do it once at the start.
You might want to manually switch the channel frequency if interference is the root cause.
You see, ipads have been so good at WiFi for so long that most people would start looking at something else causing the problem.

You can try a few ways on apple support forum, I took one of such examples:

  1. Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
  2. Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
  3. good luck!
