Will that new wattage ac charger speed up the charging of my Ipad 3?

I think I read somewhere that the Ipad 4 and the mini has a high watt charger, so they charge faster. Can I buy one of these and plug it in and charge My Ipad 3 so it charges faster?

Only if the iPad 3's charging circuitry allows the extra two watts.

Anybody done a test on this? Because my first guess on this is, it won't since it was built with the 10 watt version in mind.
