What will convince you to sell your iPad?

If the next gen iPad has a camera?

If another tablet has 1080p capabilities..?

Much faster processor?

SD slot?

Much bigger hard drive?

For me I'm not sure, I basically just use it to surf the net, and some apps, I don't really care for higher definition.. And I don't care about camera..

I probably still wouldn't sell right now, but eventually, whenever I replace this down the road, I would want a camera, better office apps, and the ability to browse folders on my work network without having to have another computer put the files I need into a dropbox or email, etc.

If that device was out right now, I wouldn't jump to it just yet. I'm happy enough with the iPad the way it is, I want to get my money's worth out of it.

I use mine for msny things from reading, creating docs, exporting them, storage on Goodreader, reading news and blogs, reading and participating in forums, uploading and creating videos and viewing them as well as viewing others photo gslleries, reading--whew!!!!

I almost never use my laptop and my powerful desktop for photo processing and occasional backup/syncing of Ipad. Right now, no, I wouldn't buy a new Ipad but I feel sure we will buy another for our household and I'm not sure we can wait for a new model LOL.

I wont be selling mine. I just pass last years version off to my wife when I get the new version. That is if I can get her to hold out that long.

More than once my wife has said, "If you don't put that iPad down soon... "

(I really need to learn some discipline!) No, not that kind!!! Sheesh, get your mind out of the gutter!

Nothin' wrong with that!:D

As we get older, new kicks get harder to find... Huh! The iPad fills a void... Aw, shut up!:p

Now remember, Uncle Stevie wants this to be a family friendly device. After all, he just pulled the "adult" titles off of the iBooks top ten list!

1080p would be useless on a tablet. You won't notice the difference between 720p and 1080p unless your looking at a screen around 36" or bigger. I guess that would be a smaller number since the ipad is help so closely but it still wouldnt make a noticable difference on such tiny screens.

That being said i would like a camera built in though that would'nt convince me to sell. Better processor and graphical capabilities would be great however. The iPad does everything I want out of a tablet really and it'll be a few gen's before I upgrade most likely.

I need more than a few updates to the hardware if anyone wants to win me over. I think theres major improvement room software wise however, but that can be taken care of through firmware updates.

I still cannot wait to see the future of tablet however, im starting to see some impressive looking windows 7 stuff coming out lately. If they can marry the Zune HD interface and OS happily with w tablet that may convince me however!:D

I can't really tell the difference on my 42" screen.

Not everyone can. Personally I can tell the difference on my 36" Samsung but that's only because I really only use it for gaming and sit like 4 feet away sometimes closer. Terrible for my eyes I know but if i sat a proper distance I probably wouldn't be able to tell lol.

It really saddens me when I see people out buying 20" tv's for the kitchen that cost hundreds of pounds more because they do 1080p which will be completely indestinguishable from 720p on such a small screen.

Unfortunately we live in a world where MANY MANY people like to pay the stupid consumer tax lol.

Also just wanted to mention whilst in the Apple store the other day I checke dou the iPhone 4 and have to say I foudn the "Retina" display to be VERY unimpressive. People weer touting this thing as if it were god's grace to screen types but when I pulled out my Zune HD and put it next to the OLED screen on the Zune BLEW THE RETINA AWAY. Now that's just my oppinion but I felt that I could actually see the pixels on the retina display and that while it was brighter that the older screens that OLED still had more vibrant color's and more pop to it.

OLED is also much more battery efficient. The iPad would seriously benefit from an OLED screen. however I only looked that the retina screen for a few minutes and with more play time my oppinion may have changed but I did squeeze in a game of plants vs zombies and yeah I just don't know.

Right now I still personally love the OLED screens. End rant lol.

Upgrading computer hardware has been an issue since computers became available and will continue to be an issue in the future. It's only a matter of time. Something better will always come along. By then, it's just deciding if you've gotten enough use out of what you purchased and the cost vs. value ratio is for a new purchase.

The iPad might be the best at what it does, but that won't always be the case. I rarely have "top of the line" hardware, but I do try to keep up with what's currently out.

So, yes, I'll buy what's new--but not sure if it will be as soon as it comes out. (I just bought my iPad a few weeks ago, not when it was introduced.)

I wouldn't consider replacing my iPad until I've had some time to work with it running OS4. I would also have to consider what new features a 2nd gen iPad would have. I don't do a lot of video / camera stuff and I already have a kick-ass dlsr -- holding up an iPad to take a pic would seem a bit awkward.

My current iPad seems fast enough and I have enough storage for what I need to do (64gb).
