As we're approaching to the year's end, it seems that more and more important app makers are rushing in with their new versions. Such is the case with Yahoo! which has issued a recent update to its Weather app and is now revamping the search application, as well.
The new version of the app come with an improved navigation system focused on the new side panel, being accessible by side-swiping, Yahoo 5.4 for iOS now integrates latest local news headlines and also allows users to comment on stories within the app, a feature that has been long overdue.
Yahoo said the following on its blog:
“Today we’re bringing local news to your fingertips with the Yahoo App. As you move around the country, you’ll be able to see what’s going on in your area.”
iPhone and iPad users can now swipe to the right when inside the app for more news and customization options. Users can also pick news categories that are relevant to them. If you want to get personalized stories, you will have to log in, so that Yahoo can remember and fetch what your preferences are.
The revamped app now integrates comments along with the voting system, which means you will no longer have to switch to Yahoo’s main website in order to comment on stories. Another minor change is that the The Yahoo Today button will appear in the upper right hand corner, allowing access to ocal weather, favorite sports teams, popular Flickr photos and videos, stocks and more.
