3g/cell data has stopped working

Anyone else had or heard of this? My 3G ipad2 is now only a wifi, cell data stopped working a few days ago completely....almost as if the cell signal vanished. APPLE and ATT say I may need a new sim card....has anyone had this happen before, what causes it?

SIM cards just sometimes crap out. Just go to an AT&T store and get a new one.

So no fix with a new SIM...guess I'm off to the Apple Store to see what they say
