Hello Folks,
Just wished to try and ask a very specific question re just one of the many IPAD realted Items I am interested in and looking at?The item in question is the The Brydge Alu Keyboard

I must admit to being fascinated by this very smart and great looking keyboard, but I only know a little about it from there web site and few mentions here and there. The two guys behind the project plus the supporter's who pledged the finance deserve to be congratulated on what looks a very good product to compliment the IPAD

The Ipad will be my main only computer and I will use a keyboard but am trying to juggle what will be my best combination to have I like the ooterbox but could not have the BRYDGE or similar,I could have the otterbox and disconnected Bluetooth Keyboard? or One of the ZAGGS/
Logitechs ,Would really value some expert feedback please;

Many Thanks
Regards Steve

hello Again AQ_OC

Yes that was one of the few reviews I read, which set me thinking.and the point is well made about Macbook Air which I really do not wish to go to.so with a more focused approach I think it will be one of the Logitechs/Zaggs or the latest Apple keyboard,
I do not go with the views expressed on the Brydge site and elsewhere to justify it`s use/Cost if I be truly honest:oalso I read somewhere the speaker version is very poor unless they have upgraded the speakers which was one area that did interest me as I am looking for the Ipad as my Music server.I just wished to see what other folk may have felt about the Brydge.so of the remaining contenders Logitech just in front by a nose I think? but time to hear feedback on this and the zagg e.t.c.

once again many thanks

Sorry AQ_OC
Missed the link button first time around
have just finished reading the Superb! thread and looking at the excellent pics e.t.c. that seems a very nice and classy set up,and it now heads my top three list, still to find the other two?

Not sure I could make a good job of fitting the Carbons though? love your cases and I do love neoprene the smell as never bothered me but I am open to suggestions as to the ideal travel case

Best wishes Steve

The carbons aren't hard at all...the material is easy to work with. You may or may not need them, it just depends on how you view your device. When I did that, I was thinking I'd sell my iPad 3 when the next one came out --- which I assumed would be in march 2014, but apple had a different idea.

hello AQ_OC
Your comments re the carbons are good to hear as I think they make your set up look very classy indeed and now I have shook off my CRUX/BRYDGE fixation it should be easier for me to decide to go with something similar to your set up or a different one? time to decide though.

Can you see any advantage of say the OTTERBOX DEFENDER and a seperate Keyboard set up or go with at least the clip in Logitechs or Zaggs?
just trying to strike a good balance overhaul.if it`s the non Otterbox route then I need screen protection am i correct so any good advice on this aspect

Once again many thanks Very much obliged for your patience

best wishes Steve:D

Screen protection is a tricky topic. If you feel you want or need it, I say go for it. Myself, I just use a case. Also, for me. The otter box is too much for day to day use, but when I have I use that hard candy case shown at the link above.

There is another keyboard case on amazon by new Trent. I will post a link to it.

Superb yet again AQ_OC
I had actually seen the case you have linked me to,looks okay to me I did notice there was a problem with a plastic bit that broke according to the notes?but certainly something like this would be fine with me and as you say the Otterbox is maybe a touch over the top...

With regards to screen protection I am not quite sure at this stage will give it more thought and more investigation...all good fun!

many thanks once again

best wishes Steve

I actually received my Brydge Keyboard on the 24th of Dec. I have to say that I am very well pleased with the quality and the construction of the case/keyboard. It is very solid, very MacBook like. I have been looking for something like this ever since I became intrigued by the Asus Transformer Pad's keyboard doc. While waiting for my Brydge to arrive, I used the Logitech Ultrathin (Whtie) keyboard, which I loved everything about, it just did not have a hinge like the Brydge. I can verify that the speakers are just ok, but still better because you have the sound firing upward as you, as opposed to in the rear of the iPad. Overall, this thing screams longevity, and I recommend for anyone trying to turn their iPad into a laptop replacement (like myself). Last comment, some will definitely not like the placement of the right shift key, I actually do not have much of a gripe with it.
