AppleInsider reports today that Apple has started selling refurbished Wi-Fi-only iPad minis with Retina displays via the “Apple Certified Refurbished†section of the online Apple Store.
It seems as if the move has already been an incredibly popular one, with AppleInsider reporting that the 16 GB version is already sold out. However, at the time of writing, there are still 32 GB and 64 GB models available, for $419 and $509 respectively, representing a markdown of $80 and $90 apiece.
As usual with its official refurbs, Apple is offering the iPad minis with a one-year warranty, and you can get extended AppleCare coverage for them as well. Apple states that the refurbished tablets will have a “brand new battery and outer shell,†according to AppleInsider, so hopefully there will be no difference in performance between the refurb and a brand new model, making it a great bargain well worth snapping up!
At present only Wi-Fi-only models are on offer, and it’s not known if others will be added.
