Apple is always interested in growing its business and operations, and a new report brings new interesting information. According to a story from the Downtown Examiner publication, Apple has leased a large part of the Broadway Trade Center.
The company is said to transform a five-story, 1.1 million-square-foot building located in downtown Los Angeles, California into a mini campus complete with Apple Store.

The Broadway Trade Center which is over 1 million square feet and almost stretches a full square block from 8th to 9th on Broadway was purchased by New York real estate firm Waterbridge Capital earlier this year for an estimated $115 -130 million. Credible resources reached out to us through back channels reporting Apple Corporation has signed a several hundred thousand sf lease!!
Talk about Downtown LA game changer! The impact of the Blackstone Apartments and Ace Hotel (each around 100,000sf) to the 9th & Broadway corridor has brought numerous restaurant and retail tenants to the corridor such as Acne Studios, Urban Outfitters, angelo:HOME, Umami Burger, Om Nom Organics Market, Aesop, Big Gay Ice Cream, Kinfolk Studios, Tanner Goods, A.P.C., 1810 restaurant, and OAK NYC (just to name a few)….imagine what several Hundred Thousand SF Apple Corporation will do for the area!
Rumors swirling are Apple Corp will have a campus in the building with multiple uses such as office space, residential, and retail. There is also talk of Apple opening up a branch for their recent 3 Billion dollar purchase of Beats By Dre, which is a critically acclaimed subscription streaming music service, which makes the popular Beats headphones, speakers and audio software.
An anonymous tipster says that Apple has signed a lease for "several hundred thousand square-feet" of space in the building, but details on the expected move-in date have not been provided yet.
Rumor has it that Apple could establish there a multi-use "campus" with offices, residential and retail space. A specialized shop dedicated to Beats by Dre hardware is said to be part of the location, as well.
