Architecture - buildings that is

Yep, that is exactly what would be required here too but geez, how little do they think of their workers to allow them to work in that mess.

In Oz, in each of the States, we have Workers Compensation systems in which the claims/injury/rehabilitation history of an employer is directly linked to the levies/premiums paid by the employers as a percentage of their employees' wages total. If there's a workers comp. claim, that then increases the employer's levy payment, sometimes drastically. Such a situation as shown in that photo would be a rare occurrence in the building industry here which is on a high scale of levy rates anyway. A contractor with any employee on that building site would not have a bar of that scene.

That's right. It's not a "Safe way" of working. There are tripping hazards as well as loose sharp building materials in view.

The health and safety person should ensure the h&s plan is being adhered to.

Over here there is a triple hit, firstly claims cause the specific companies insurance payments to rise, contractors have to disclose accident statistics when tendering for work and in addition, a current client would not be looking to give further contracts to a contractor who did this. We would also be at risk of having a Prohibition notice served on us which could stop the contractors activities at the particular site or even across their whole business along with a court case, fine and possibly someone ending up behind bars.

The first step on the road to building the new football stadium in Regina has been taken.

Great looking stadium. Will it have one of those inflatable covers for winter weather?

No, the playing field will be open to the sky. It's what they call roof ready, whatever that means.

Well, that type of football deserves access to real weather. It's nice to see the designers seem to feel that way also. I loved playing in rain, snow. (away games) wind and such - just not excessive heat (used to see mid 100's to 110° F at 98% humidity) or lightning (always delay or call games for lightning) we had so much of in Florida.

Here are two views of the Saskatchewan Legislature Building, taken earlier this morning.

I like those photos, Scifan. It looks like there is a diving / swimming area in the lake. Were you near a clubhouse or base for the swimmers when you took the second photo?

Those aren't diving boards, they're starting platforms for rowing races.

Nice shots those scifan leaving no doubt summer is now being enjoyed there. I believe Canada has a Parliament. In Saskatchewan would you also call that building your Parliament Building or is this something else? Pardon my ignorance... should google things more:)

The Provincial government is called the provincial legislature and the building is called the legislature building.

This is Henderson Terrace, a row housing project built in 1913. It is one of the finest examples of its type in Regina. It was constructed on one of the only rocky outcrops in the city. image-1129468881.webp image-3489035301.webp image-3071911256.webp

On your third picture, it looks like there was written "WASCANA TERRACE" before.
