Is there any app that allows me to control a vista home premium pc?
Thanks mike!

I have been using LMI free for a long time and am familiar with the process of installing LMI on the host computer and then remotely accessing it from my LMI account on any computer I wish to use. I take care of the maintenance issues of a number of relatives this way.

I just got an iPad and am looking at ways to perform the same service from the iPad. I've discovered Teamviewer and Splashtop, neither of which I'm familiar with.

For my purposes, what would be my best option? Since I'm already familiar with LMI, I would go with LMI Ignition but for the $20 pricetag. TV is free and Splashtop is $0.99.

Again - do any of them work with Vista HOME edition?

Excellent! Now will that allow you to watch a movie in windows media center in the desktop you're controlling with lmi a d see the movie in 720p on the ipad screen?

Does the ipad screen function as a mouse on the desktop u remotely control? Is ther ANY desktop function u CANNOT run and see on your ipad screen?

THANKS!

I don't think you get any sound with LMI. I only use remote access software for updating and troubleshooting purposes, not for streaming video. As I said above, I haven't used it on the iPad yet.

But I have streamed Netflix to the iPad (and iTouch) without a problem. But that's unrelated to what I understand you want to do.

Oh SOUND, I never thought of that. I wouldn't dare buy the app unless someone had tried it in the IPAD with Vista Home Ed and could tell me EXACTLY what it will and will not do.

It would be nice to stream video from my home computer. I don't see why the video would stream and its sound not stream but I know nothing about remote control of Desktops. It was my understanding that it couldn't be done at all unless you had the Pro version of Vista. I know the most popular desktop sharing and control programs don't work with Vista Home ed.

I wonder if games would work without the sound?

Splashtop does.

Can I control my Vista Home Ed desktop remotely via internet from a separate WIFI network or do I have to be home for it to work?

Can I cruse the web (via Desktop viewed on IPAD) and look at flash videos etc?

Can I use all the programs on my Desktop through the IPAD by using Splashtop?

Thanks very much for your help!

Thanks again. I went to the website and noted several posters were unable to get the app to work on their computers. It's possible that every app has such posters but it scared me. IF it works as it should it looks like a great app.

Do you use it regularly?
